About
Opera Lirica

Opera Lirica began as a bold dream: to make musical theatre accessible to everyone and give young performers a stage to shine. This vision came to life thanks to our amazing producer and director, Vincenzo Nesci, whose passion for the arts is matched by his incredible experience. With over 20 years at Opera Australia and decades of dazzling audiences in leading roles. Encouraged by friends who admired his talent both as a singer and director, he set out to bring this exciting project to life—and Opera Lirica was born.

Since then, Opera Lirica has grown into something truly special. We’ve brought powerful stories like La Traviata, Rigoletto, and Cavalleria Rusticana to life, blending timeless drama with our unique flair. Our productions of Die Fledermaus and Yeomen of the Guard have wowed audiences in Sydney and beyond with a mix of tradition and fresh energy. By pairing rising stars with seasoned performers, we create dynamic shows full of creativity and emotion. With Vince’s imaginative direction, every performance is an unforgettable experience that honours the classics while giving them a modern edge.

Who We Are

Opera Lirica is a passionate crew of artists and volunteers bringing music and theatre to life! From fun fundraisers like BBQs to generous donations, we’ve found creative ways to keep the magic going, even when ticket sales don’t cover costs. Our performances deliver an up-close musical experience, now powered by two talented pianists for an even richer sound. Touring new venues can be a challenge, but it’s all worth it to share our art, spread the joy, and connect with more amazing audiences like you!
