About Opera Lirica Sydney
Intriguing Expressive Endearing
Welcome to Opera Lirica Sydney, where opera springs to life, blending powerful music and storytelling to create experiences you’ll never forget. Our mission is to make opera something everyone can enjoy, while giving young performers a chance to grow and shine in this exciting art form.
Opera Lirica Sydney was established through a shared passion for opera and musical theatre, with a vision of bringing the performing arts to wider audiences and creating opportunities for artists to develop and showcase their talents. Built on a foundation of professional expertise, artistic dedication and the encouragement of like-minded supporters, the organisation has grown into a creative community committed to celebrating live performance, nurturing talent and making the arts more accessible to all.
We’ve brought famous operas like La Traviata, Rigoletto, and Cavalleria Rusticana to life, and our performances of Die Fledermaus and Yeomen of the Guard have delighted audiences in Sydney and the Blue Mountains. By combining the fresh energy of up-and-coming artists with the expertise of experienced performers, we bring new life to beloved classics.
With innovative direction, our productions are visually captivating while staying true to the original ideas of the composers and librettists. Come explore the magic of opera with us, and get ready to be inspired. Once you’ve experienced Opera Lirica Sydney, you’ll want to come back again and again!
