Mezzo-Soprano, Strong: Passionate, Captivating, Trailblazer

With a Bachelor of Music and Graduate Diploma in Music, specializing in Classical Voice from The Australian Institute of Music, Elizabeth Hylton brings a world of vocal artistry to the stage. Versatile and passionate, Elizabeth embraces an impressive range of genres, including Opera, Operetta, Musical Theatre, Oratorio, Classical Contemporary Crossover, and even Contemporary Music. As a regular soloist for The Christian Science Church in Dee Why, Elizabeth continues to expand her vocal repertoire, delighting audiences with each performance.

 

Elizabeth's career is rich with diverse experiences, from her time touring Australia with The Ten Sopranos to performing with the Sydney Welsh Choir during their Tasmanian tour. She has also taken on prominent soloist roles, such as the Mezzo Soloist in Christmas Oratorio for The Beethoven Society of Australia and the Alto Soloist in Vivaldi’s Gloria for The Australian Institute of Music. Her talent for inhabiting characters shines in operatic roles, including “Lichas” in Hercules and Ino in Semele for Opera Events. Gilbert and Sullivan fans will recognize her as “Iolanthe” in Iolanthe, “Tessa” in The Gondoliers, and “Phoebe” in The Yeomen of the Guard, among other beloved roles.

 

The stage isn’t her only platform—since the start of the pandemic, Elizabeth has also brought her voice to Sydney’s streets through busking. This creative venture has allowed her to build a dedicated following, with her performances becoming a staple in the Sydney open mic scene. Known for her consistent charm and professionalism, Elizabeth also entertains at a variety of events, from weddings and corporate functions to art exhibitions and restaurants.

 

A memorable highlight in Elizabeth's career came when she joined "Team Jess: after an impressive Blind Audition on The Voice 2022. She is looking forward to performing at the “Ferragosto” Italian Festival for Canada Bay Council, continuing her journey of enchanting audiences wherever she goes. Music, in every sense, is her lifeblood, and her enthusiasm for vocal artistry shines through each role, song, and setting she embraces.
