Vincenzo Nesci

Director, Actor, Operatic Singer, Bass: Resonant, Passionate, Visionary, Mentor

Vincenzo Nesci’s remarkable journey in opera began as a chorister with Opera Australia, where he first embraced the world of song and stage. Over the years, he stepped into the spotlight with numerous musical societies, delighting audiences in leading roles in La Traviata, Cavalleria Rusticana, and Die Fledermaus. His passion for the works of Gilbert and Sullivan brought even more magic to his performances, where he lent his voice and spirit to some of their most beloved characters.

In 2012, a group of friends who had shared many performances with him encouraged Vince to take his artistry to a new level: directing. Inspired by their enthusiasm and his love for the craft, he brought forth a series of stunning productions, including La Traviata, A Masked Ball, Die Fledermaus, The Yeomen of the Guard, Cavalleria Rusticana, and Rigoletto. From these collaborations, Opera Lirica was born—a company devoted to bringing live musical theatre to audiences across Sydney and the Blue Mountains.

Today, Opera Lirica stands as a beacon for young artists, offering a stage to practice and thrive within this thrilling art form. Through Vince’s leadership and vision, Opera Lirica continues to enrich communities, celebrate timeless music, and inspire audiences and performers alike.
